Celebrity witch doctor, Kwaku Bonsam has taken his political ambition from a mere speech to action as he mounts billboards to contest as a parliamentary candidate.

He wants to represent the people of the Offinso North constituency of the Ashanti Region in Ghana’s parliament thus he is canvassing for votes to make this a reality.

Kwaku Bonsam believes a transition from the consulting of gods to the wearing of a suit and tie and sitting in the air-conditioned office of the parliament house is not an outrageous ambition.

However, he has a hurdle to surmount since he will be facing stiff opposition from three other candidates, including the incumbent MP, Augustine Collins Ntim, the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Ofosu Acheampong Caesar and another independent candidate, Boateng Sumaila.

According to a Myjoyonline.com interview they had with residents of the constituency, many of these people do not think the fetish priest stands any chance of winning in the upcoming polls.

“I DOUBT HE WILL WIN BUT RATHER COLLINS NTIM STANDS A GOOD CHANCE BECAUSE OF THE WORK HE HAS DONE,”

“THERE’S NOTHING GREATER THAN GOD’S POWER, ARE THE GODS THE ONES TO VOTE FOR HIM? HUMAN BEINGS ARE THE ONES GOING TO VOTE AND I BELIEVE BY THE GRACE OF GOD, COLLINS NTIM WILL WIN,” ONE SAID.

“WHAT MY BROTHERS HAVE SAID IS RIGHT, NO ONE CAN COMPETE WITH COLLINS NTIM BECAUSE WE HAVE ACCEPTED HIM.”

“IF YOU LOOK AT THE WORK HE HAS DONE, NONE OF THEM CAN ACCOMPLISH EVEN HALF AND FOR KWEKU BONSAM, HE CAN’T EVEN GET CLOSER BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT SEEN ANY DEVELOPMENT FROM HIM IN THE CONSTITUENCY. IT IS ONLY THAT HE IS A FAMOUS FETISH PRIEST ON RADIO AND THAT’S ALL,” ANOTHER SAID.

Meanwhile, Kwaku Bonsam is promising development, jobs and security for the people of Offinso North constituency.
